Name: Jeff Westerfield
How long at Benson: I’ve basically worked here all my life. Those of you with parents that own their own business understand what I’m saying. The earliest I can remember helping out was when I was about 10, helping Dad move from one building to another. Little did I know, Steve and I would run the business from that location some day? I actually came to work full time in 1981
Primary Duties: Operations
Title: Co-Owner / V.P. Operations
Statement: I count myself fortunate I am surrounded by the best family possible. Trish and I have been married for 26 years. We have 2 boys Ben (23 in grad school) Nate (16 going to be a Jr. @ Blair High School) and brand new daughter in-law Jessica (law school student).
We have a great time together and really enjoy traveling to where ever. Whether it be back to Trisha’s old Kentucky home, to Fiji for Ben & Jess’s wedding or to New Mexico to backpack through the mountains with Nates’ Boy Scout troop. We just have a good time being together.
Working with family can be different, but, I wouldn’t have it any other way. We’re all in it together. We try to be as flexible and forgiving as possible with each other. I am fortunate to have a great partner in Steve. He is the most instinctive natural business person I know.
Of course, Steve and I couldn’t do it alone. We really have the hardest working and best people around us. Everyone here does their best to be sure our customers are taken care of. I am constantly in aw of some of the follow through that people here on their own. No one asks, they just do it. We are fortunate! And I thank them all!
